Lougher’s Highlights: Best Booths at IFPDA Print Fair 2025

The International Fine Print Dealers Association (IFPDA) Print Fair is a cornerstone event in the art world, celebrating over 550 years of printmaking. Established in 1987, the IFPDA comprises more than 150 members across 13 countries, including esteemed galleries, dealers, and publishers specialising in prints and editions. The fair is held at the historic Park Avenue Armory in New York, offering collectors, curators, and art enthusiasts an unparalleled opportunity to engage with a diverse array of fine art prints, from Old Masters to contemporary works.

Highpoint Editions

Highpoint Centre for Printmaking, based in Minneapolis, collaborates with prominent contemporary artists to produce fine art prints. Their booth featured works by Njideka Akunyili Crosby, known for her intricate depictions of Nigerian diasporic life, and Julie Mehretu, whose abstract compositions explore themes of displacement and identity.

Burnet Editions

New York-based Burnet Editions showcased an impressive selection of prints by George Condo, whose work blends traditional techniques with contemporary sensibilities; Sean Scully, renowned for his abstract explorations of colour and form; and Adam Pendleton, whose conceptual pieces challenge historical narratives.

Cristea Roberts Gallery

London's Cristea Roberts Gallery featured works by Julian Opie, recognised for his minimalist portraits and landscapes; Yinka Shonibare CBE, whose art addresses cultural identity and colonialism; and Anni Albers, a pioneering textile artist and printmaker.

Durham Press

Durham Press, located in Pennsylvania, presented vibrant prints by Beatriz Milhazes, celebrated for her colourful, abstract motifs; Hurvin Anderson, whose work often reflects on themes of memory and place; and Jacob Hashimoto, known for his intricate, layered compositions.

Galerie Maximilian

Aspen's Galerie Maximilian presented a diverse range of prints by artists such as Shara Hughes, Grayson Perry, Rashid Johnson, Julie Mehretu, David Hockney, Jonas Wood, George Condo, and Harland Miller, offering a comprehensive view of contemporary printmaking.

Lower East Side Printshop

This New York-based printshop highlighted works by Hank Willis Thomas, whose art delves into themes of identity, history, and popular culture, often recontextualising imagery from advertising and media.

Mixografia

Los Angeles' Mixografia showcased innovative prints by Jonas Wood, Leonora Carrington, Terry Winters, Jacob Hashimoto, Tom Wesselmann, and Ed Ruscha. Known for their unique three-dimensional printing technique, Mixografia collaborates with artists to push the boundaries of traditional printmaking.

Universal Limited Art Editions (ULAE)

ULAE, a storied print publisher, showcased pieces by Christopher Wool, known for his bold, text-based works; and Marina Adams, whose abstract paintings and prints explore rhythm and movement through colour and form.

Gemini G.E.L.

Gemini G.E.L., a Los Angeles-based workshop, featured prints by Ed Ruscha, Roy Lichtenstein, Tacita Dean, Richard Serra, John Baldessari, and Robert Rauschenberg. Since its inception in 1966, Gemini G.E.L. has been instrumental in producing limited-edition prints with leading contemporary artists.

Hauser & Wirth

International gallery Hauser & Wirth presented works by Rashid Johnson, Catherine Goodman, William Kentridge, and Thomas J Price. Their booth offered a compelling selection of contemporary prints that reflect the gallery’s commitment to diverse artistic practices.
